We’re delighted to announce that Allen Cornwall, a native Mainer with nearly two decades of technology sales experience, has partnered with give IT. get IT. as our Technology Reuse and Recycling Advocate.
This is the first time in our 20-year history that we’ve had a business development person of any kind associated with our organization. From the instant COVID-19 took hold, we’ve received a flood of requests from people who can’t afford computers but need them to work from home, take classes online, and stay connected with families and doctors. Just when we thought demand for our services couldn’t get any more intense, we answered the call from the Computer Technology Assistance Corps board of directors to take over their operation after the passing of their executive director.
The fact is, we need as much reusable technology as we can get, which means we need to connect with more businesses in Maine and throughout New England.
That’s why we’re so happy to have Allen on our team.
For 19 years, Allen sold a variety of IT solutions to companies of all sizes in all industries all over New England as a Senior Business Development Manager at Systems Engineering. Thanks to our great relationship with Systems Engineering, Allen was already well aware of our organization and our digital inclusion mission. A give IT. get IT. surplus technology recycling client since 2019, Systems Engineering is also one of our most generous corporate sponsors. Thanks to a significant financial donation from Systems Engineering in 2020, we were able to run our first television ad to reach businesses at the height of the pandemic.
Now that Allen is on our team, our Operations Director Chris Martin is free to focus on expanding our operation while Allen handles outreach, networking, and client relations.
Allen received his Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Technology from the University of Southern Maine and his MBA from Southern New Hampshire. Before joining Systems Engineering, Allen worked in logistics roles at Lily Transportation and Nestle Waters. His combination of experience will be a big help in our warehouse and in the field. Allen lives in Scarborough with his wife, Kimberly, and their dog Odie who regularly accompanies Allen on his meetings throughout Maine and New England. Both of his children attend Merrimack College where they are pole vaulters who Allen coached during their high school track days. Allen enjoyed that experience so much he is now the official pole vaulting coach at Scarborough High School.
Allen is an avid skier and mountain biker who loves to play golf but is a self-described hacker so if you have any openings on your charity golf foursome, you may want to look elsewhere. What Allen lacks in golfing talent, he more than makes up for in responsiveness, perseverance, and passion for our digital inclusion mission. Allen’s job is to help give IT. get IT. acquire more reusable laptops and computers that we can convert into new tools and receive for people in need and more financial donations to fund our operation and lower our participation costs.
Now that you know who Allen is and what he’s here to do, we hope you’ll assist us in filling his inbox and making his phone ring with referrals and requests for information. Please reach out to Allen at [email protected] or 207-749-3431.
Thank you for supporting give IT. get IT. and our digital inclusion mission!
