give IT. get IT. Earns Candid Gold Seal of Transparency

We’re proud to announce that give IT. get IT. has been awarded the Candid Gold Seal of Transparency, a prestigious recognition that demonstrates our commitment to accountability and openness in advancing digital equity.

What This Means for Our Mission

Candid is a leading nonprofit organization that provides comprehensive data and insights about the social sector, helping nonprofits and funders make informed decisions. Formed in 2019 through the merger of GuideStar and Foundation Center, Candid sets the standard for nonprofit transparency and accountability.

The Gold Seal of Transparency signifies that give IT. get IT. has shared detailed qualitative information about our work, including our goals, strategies, and vision for bridging the digital divide. This level of transparency goes beyond basic organizational and financial information to provide a comprehensive picture of how we’re working to ensure equitable access to technology and digital resources.

Why This Matters to Our Supporters and Community

Earning the Gold Seal brings several significant benefits that strengthen our ability to serve our mission:

  • Enhanced Visibility: Our profile information is now distributed to over 200 charitable platforms, including Facebook, AmazonSmile, and major donor-advised funds, connecting us with millions of potential supporters who share our commitment to digital equity.
  • Increased Trust: The Gold Seal demonstrates our dedication to operating with integrity and accountability, giving donors, partners, and community members confidence in our work.
  • Strengthened Fundraising: Organizations with a Seal of Transparency receive, on average, 53-62% more in contributions, allowing us to expand our impact in closing the digital divide.
  • Streamlined Partnerships: Many foundations and funders rely on Candid profiles for due diligence, making it easier for us to pursue collaborative opportunities that advance digital equity.

Impact on Our Organization and New England

This recognition strengthens give IT. get IT.’s capacity to serve communities throughout New England in meaningful ways:

  • Expanded Regional Reach: The increased visibility and credibility enables us to forge new partnerships with schools, libraries, community centers, and businesses across New England, ensuring more underserved communities gain access to technology and digital literacy programs.
  • Sustainable Growth: Enhanced fundraising potential allows us to invest in our infrastructure, expand our team, and develop innovative programs that address the evolving digital needs of New England residents.
  • Regional Leadership: As a Gold Seal recipient, give IT. get IT. stands as a model for transparent, accountable nonprofit operations in the New England digital equity space, inspiring confidence among regional funders and policymakers. This recognition reinforces our position as a core partner with the Maine Connectivity Authority, where we play a central role in achieving the state’s ambitious Digital Equity Plan goals.

Several of Maine’s statewide objectives were developed with our capacity and expertise in mind, including securing at least 25,000 donated devices for refurbishment from businesses, institutions, and agencies across Maine, and distributing 50,000 new and refurbished devices—with comprehensive technical support—to Maine residents who need them most.

Our designation as a key partner on the Maine Connectivity Authority’s Digital Opportunity Fund demonstrates the trust state leaders place in our ability to deliver measurable results. The Gold Seal validates this confidence and positions us to take on even greater responsibility in coordinating regional digital equity efforts across New England.

  • Greater Community Impact: With improved access to funding and partnerships, we can bridge the digital divide more effectively across New England’s diverse urban and rural communities, ensuring that geographic location or economic status doesn’t determine digital access.

This recognition reflects give IT. get IT.’s ongoing commitment to transparency and accountability as we work toward a future where everyone across New England has equitable access to technology and the digital skills needed to thrive.
